I can’t believe I’ve been posting these reflections for a year now. Moon after moon. Phase after phase. And yet, these past few nights felt strange.
Because I couldn’t see her at all.
No glow.
And it got me thinking…
Does the illumination of the moon bring more significance to our attention?
Do we only notice her when she shines?
And if so… can we still feel her presence in the dark?I think the answer is yes but in a different way.
She highlights what’s already there. Our emotions, our desires, our truths. The absence of her glow isn’t emptiness. This is the phase where cleansing and renewal happen.
The darkness becomes a mirror of its own.
In the unseen sky, we’re reminded that growth doesn’t always happen in light.
Roots form underground.
Rest happens with eyes closed.
Healing often begins where no one is watching. And maybe that’s the deeper metaphor the new moon carries. That not everything meaningful shines.
That some chapters are meant to be written in the dark. That we don’t need clarity to begin.
After a year of honoring the lunar cycle, it feels right that the new moon would ask something different of me now.
Not to post perfection.
Not to illuminate every thought.
But to sit with the quiet and trust that renewal is already underway.
So if this new moon feels heavy, or invisible, or unsettling, you’re not disconnected…
You’re being called inward.
Let this be your permission to rest without guilt. Release without explanation. Set intentions without pressure. 🫶
The moon is still there.
Even when you can’t see her.
And so are you.
